BBC increases podcasting

Listening to radio 4 today they were advertising that they were increasing the number of programmes you can download as a podcast to listen to “at your leisure”

Made me think – not that long ago people were saying we were becoming a visual culture and unless you had moving images that kept changing you wouldn’t be able to engage anyone’s attention for more than a couple of seconds. Things seem to be changing. With the increasing popularity of MP3 players people of all ages are discovering how easy it is to listen to their favourite things whilst doing other things eg jogging, driving, at the gym, in the supermarket etc.

The spoken word is coming back into favour – not just factual programmes like radio 4 but stories and books. I think Zynia is exactly what busy people need, just think you can download a story onto your MP3 player and then listen to it later when you are more relaxed and have time to think through the mesaage and how it might apply to you and your situation, if you like it you can send it to a friend and get their opinion, start a discussion or even engage in a coaching session.
