Last week I went on a licensing course with The Springboard Consultancy. It was for their new course – Fresh Steps, a development course for older workers – it was brilliant and I learnt a lot. I know lots of people who could benefit from it and organisations need to realise that the demographic time bomb will hit them too. Fresh Steps can aid managers in keeping and motivating their older employees and thus increase their profitability and win the war for talent.
We discussed the importance of stories and personal experiences – theories are only part of the equation, stories bring the ideas alive and people remember the illustrations. This is central to Zynia’s concept – we believe that stories and metaphor are vital to the learning process and this is where training packs come in, people can listen to our stories on age and other topics and the experiences related often chime in with their own memories, this can help them to decide on directions and policies for the future.
